The AS332 Super Puma is a medium twin-engine helicopter with a four-blade rotor designed by the French company Aérospatiale, now Airbus Helicopters. Equipped with two Turbomeca engines, it can reach a cruising speed of 260 km/h. The helicopter’s airframe was designed to withstand intensive use in all operational environments, including long-range missions, thanks to a range of 800 km. Furthermore, the adoption of retractable landing gear significantly improves aerodynamics during flight phases. The combination of these features has, over time, built the reputation of the “Super Puma” as a robust, reliable helicopter, ideal for the most demanding and challenging military and civilian missions. It has also been continuously upgraded in terms of avionics and electronic navigation support systems to further extend its useful operational life.
