Description

Ernesto Arnaes is the author of the bizarre colour design of the Honda RC 211V on which Valentino Rossi won the Valencia GP 2003, the last race of the World Motorcycle Championship. This livery, inspired by the 1960s style is the fruit of the competition organised by Repsol in collaboration with the Spanish magazine Motociclismo. The winning design was chosen by a jury composed of Valentino Rossi in collaboration with other notable personalities of the motorcycle scene such as M. Doohan, C. Fiorani and C. Drudi. The motorcycle painted with this design should have made its public appearance only on Sunday, the day of the race, but Rossi wanted to mount the new fairing and test it himself on Saturday because making modifications to the motorcycle on the day of the race never brought him good luck.
