Dear Friends,
we’re pleased to present a focus on an Italeri “great classic”, dedicated to the fighter-bomber Fiat G-91R. The kit has been highly requested by our Social Media Communities and through the many emails we’ve received. It now comes updated with some important new features.
The Fiat G-91R kit is now enhanced with a Super Decal sheet featuring 6 versions, 3D decals for highly detailed instrument panels, and canopy masks to make painting easier.
Just a few months after its launch, the new Fiat G-91R kit has been a great sales success, and we’ve already received numerous photos of finished "Gina" scale models from our talented modeling friends all of outstanding quality.
Thank you all for your contributions, your suggestions, and for your continued support in our work.
Historical Profile
The single-engine fighter-bomber Fiat G-91 was developed by the Italian aeronautical company in the early 1950s. Designed by the renowned engineer Giuseppe Gabrielli, it was characterized by an aerodynamic layout with swept wings and compact dimensions that ensured significant in-flight maneuverability. Its good performance enabled the G-91 to win the NATO competition aimed at identifying a tactical support aircraft that was easy to produce, yet versatile and flexible, capable of equipping the air units of member countries. The Fiat G-91 was in fact employed by the Italian Air Force as well as by Germany and Portugal. Armed, in the "R" version, with four 12.7 mm machine guns mounted in the nose, it could carry an offensive payload of 700 kg on underwing pylons.
